Despite its lengthy name, Forces of Corruption, the first expansion of Star Wars: Empire at War, brings a number of very interesting improvements.
To begin with, we have a new faction... yes, you've read well. You may be wondering how there could be a third force in the world of Star Wars movies, so well defined by the two main factions, the Rebels and the Empire. Well, LucasArts introduced the corrupts, better known as the Zann Consortium, a faction led by a strange, dark and twisted character named Tyber Zann, who aspires to become the largest criminal leader since Jabba The Hutt. Apparently these people have the ability to use the force to easily corrupt any entity that comes across their path. The Consortium“s labor includes sabotaging, bribing, extorting and corrupting their opponents, rather than resorting to direct confrontation. That does not mean they are weak in battle. For example, they will be able to use the force to create laser whips, confuse large groups of soldiers, or poison their opponents with radiation.
But not all the expansion will be about the Consortium. Forces of Corruption brings some other very interesting developments that will affect you no matter which side of the force you are. One of them is the new orbital bombers. Another is that depending on the faction which you are playing, it will enter into action a mass destruction weapon. Forces of Corruption includes thirteen new planets (including Mustafar, Kamino, Utapau, Felucia and Mandalore), which bring up new maps up to forty percent larger than in the original game. Accompanying this development you will have a new way to manage the buildings that make up your base. And speaking of buildings, the expansion will include bunkers to guard your troops and defense units, as well as turrets.

Of course, they could not fail to include new heroes. LucasArts decided to include two big favourites: Luke Skywalker and Yoda. The new heroes will be able to eliminate an entire troop of stormtroopers without blinking, but that will cost a lot of resources. Another dramatic change that brings Forces of Corruption is the ability to deal with three players in the Skirmish mode, which will give you a new perspective to multiplayer gaming.

All in all, this expansion for Star Wars Empire at War looks very nice, apparently, the force is with Petroglyph.
Advantages
  • Higher resolution textures, which means better graphics.
  • 30% - 40% larger maps
Disadvantages
  • Multiplayer mode is not so good.
